R. Baciuška Wins the "BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal" and the Third World Championship Stage

On Sunday, April 7th, the Portugal Rally in Grândola concluded, offering participants invaluable experience and a unique European version of the Dakar. Competing in the "Challenger" buggy class, Rokas Baciuška, alongside co-driver Oriol Vidal Montijano, completed the final stage in 53 minutes and 45 seconds, finishing in 11th place, but maintaining their overall lead. In the World Championship standings, the crew also firmly holds the top position, pulling ahead of their competitors.

This victory marked the Tauragė native's first World Championship stage win in a higher buggy class, and he couldn’t hide his joy as he expressed gratitude to the overwhelming support.

"Minor technical issues didn't stop us from achieving victory, so I'm very happy – both the buggy and we made it through. Thank you to the team, family, sponsors, fans – everyone who has been with us on this challenging racing journey," R. Baciuška said at the finish line.

The "BP Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal" tracks surprised even experienced rally-raid athletes every day with the amount of mud, swamps, and narrow paths between trees.

"The stages were interesting and fun, and when we saw such a large number of local spectators, it made us want to push the throttle even harder. The atmosphere here is truly unique; we didn't feel this level of interest in Dakar or Abu Dhabi," the racer summarized with a smile after the week.

On the final day of the Portugal Rally, participants had to cover just 150 kilometers. The unique motorsport event took place from April 2-7, visiting the municipalities of Grândola, Santiago do Cacém, Abrantes, Alcácer do Sal, Almeirim, Chamusca, Coruche, Mação, Ponte de Sor, Salvaterra de Magos, Sines, and Badajoz.
