Year 2023 is bringing new winds into the rally world, because two giants of their own fields - RED BULL and CAN-AM - signed a long term partnership contract. New teams - RED BULL CAN-AM FACTORY TEAM and RED BULL OFF-ROAD JUNIOR TEAM USA – will start the year off with new cars and drivers. Rokas Baciuska is the only Lithuanian driver, who is joining this new team.
Last year's Rokas Dakar rally debut conquered the hearts of many rally fans, when he finished third in the T4 category. It is a huge achievement, when you are twenty two years old. This achievement determined for Rokas to get an invitation to join RED BULL OFF-ROAD FACTORY TEAM.
CAN-AM has already won five Dakar rallies. RED BULL name has been decorating winning teams and their logos. The merger of these two giants will not only foster rally racing talents, but it will give more weight to the RED BULL OFF-ROAD JUNIOR program that aims to help young drivers, engineers, mechanics and even marketing representatives to gain experience, pursue wins and make dreams come true.
Rokas does not hide his enthusiasm, he said, ‘You know, I hope I will win in 2023. Especially because I am driving with CAN-AM MAVERICK X3, which I already have tried in the BAJA rally in Spain. Everything was spectacular: from the buggy to the team. It is definitely the best buggy in the world, which you can drive anywhere, in the sand and in the snow. It is hard to tell you the feeling I get when I drive this buggy, it is real power.”
In the year 2023, the team is expanding from four drivers to six, who will divide up into two teams - RED BULL CAN-AM FACTORY TEAM and RED BULL OFF-ROAD JUNIOR TEAM USA. RED BULL OFF-ROAD JUNIOR TEAM USA will be represented by Seth Quintero, a twenty year old driver, who is a potential Dakar rally winner, AJ Jones, twenty six year old Dakar rally winner and winner of many racing titles Mitch Guthrie.
RED BULL CAN-AM FACTORY TEAM will have two drivers - Rokas Baciuska and Spanish driver Christina Gutierrez, who won third place in the 2022 Dakar rally. She is the second woman in history to win at least one Dakar stage.
